"Blessings"

On January 1st, 1989, my grandfather held our family's very first New Year's Day prayer gathering in our home in Saugus, CA. He began this tradition he wanted to start each new year in reflection of faith and oneself (instead of suffering from a hangover). His intention was to start the year off on the right foot by offering gratitude for another year of life and seeking blessings for another year of love, family, faith, and happiness in all endeavors. I always look forward to the togetherness of family and friends and the positive vibes that surround this beautiful day. This year's program was a special one for me so I decided to capture it and post a picture from it as the first post for my endeavor with Project 365.

"Fromage"

Thanks to my cheese-loving mom, this plate was possible. Today, the first day back to normalcy after the holidays, was time to finally relax so we whipped out the cheese, mustards, marmalades, and crackers for a scrumptious pre-dinner snack.

"First Fridays"

On the first Friday of each month, food trucks from around the Los Angeles area line Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, CA for an event called "First Fridays". From 6pm-11pm, hundreds of people come to check out the latest creations from some of the best food, dessert, and snack vendors around town. My brother, his friend, and I decided to make the trek to Venice and boy, did we enjoy it! We had lobster sandwiches, mac and cheese stuffed grilled cheese, nutella croissants, and steak quesadillas and by the end of it, we were stuffed but SO satisfied. I'll definitely be going back.

"Late Night Cravings"

It was a long Saturday of productivity (business school applications, new year cleaning around the house, and so forth) so I felt it was completely necessary to make a batch of 3 dozen chocolate covered strawberries, some covered with crushed walnuts and pecans. Needless to say, it was absolutely delectable and made for one very happy family.

"Out the Door"

On the first day of the first full work week of 2014, I was the last one to leave the office. When I walked out, I was leaving with 2 lunch bags, a purse, a coffee mug, 3 folders, a large binder, and, of course, my camera in hand. I knew I wouldn't have had time to shoot that evening so I grabbed my camera and took a one handed shot of the moonlit sky with improper settings and the wrong lens from an awkward angle. At first, I hated the photo but with some fun, experimental editing, it didn't turn out so bad.

"Crisp Mornings"

Every morning I walk out to my balcony to take in the beautiful fresh air. This morning I grabbed my camera and decided to capture a small part of my morning routine!
